Your space

Designed for two, the hut combines a kitchen and living area with a fold-down bed and dining space. A large sliding door opens onto a porch: a lovely spot for morning coffee and watching our Riggit Galloway and Highland cattle go by.

There is full electricity and hot water, but no Wi-Fi. This is a small, cosy space rather than a large holiday cottage.

Getting here & exploring

The hut sits in a private field overlooking the Galloway Hills and Galloway Forest Park, within the UNESCO Biosphere. Our secluded “hidden roads” location is close to Balmaclellan (2 miles), New Galloway (4.5 miles) and St John’s Town of Dalry (6 miles).

Access is a two-minute uphill walk through a field from the car park. Please pack in bags you can carry; wheeled suitcases are not well suited to the route.

Bringing your dog

We welcome up to two small dogs, such as Jack Russells or French Bulldogs, or one small-to-medium dog, such as a Springer Spaniel. The hut cannot accommodate large dogs.

Please keep dogs on a lead whenever walking on the farm and pick up all dog waste. Dogs are not allowed on or in the bed. An additional cleaning fee will apply if there is evidence of a dog having been in the bed.

Before you arrive

  • Check-in is from 3 pm and checkout is by 11 am.

  • Weekend stays run Friday to Sunday.

  • The raised small double bed is accessed using the provided stool.

  • No Wi-Fi is available.

  • Please close all gates behind you around the hut and on the farm.
